**The 2023 Ultimate Pool Pro Series will feature ten events at five double-header long weekends throughout the year. All 96 professional players are eligible to enter these events.** 

2023 Pro Series events are straight knockout. The top 28 ranked players – following the end of the 2022 season – will all be seeded and go straight into the round of 64. They will be joined by another four seeded players on an event-by-event basis. The remaining players will contest the opening ‘preliminary’ round. 

All matches are a race to eight frames, although all main arena matches will be played with a match-clock.

The Golden Break and Golden Duck rules are not in operation during this year’s Series. 

The draws and schedules for each Series weekend will be released on the Live Scoring page around a fortnight before the event begins. 

## Dates 

All Pro Series events in 2023 will take place at the Grand Hotel in Blackpool 

There are five weekend stops, with two Pro Series events taking place at each one. Due to the rise in player numbers, events now run from Thursdays to Sundays.  The dates are:
- **Events 1 & 2 | January 19-22** 
- **Events 3 & 4 | March 23-26** 
- **Events 5 & 6 | June 15-18** 
- **Events 7 & 8 | September 14-17** 
- **Events 9 & 10 | November 16-19**

## Prize Money 

The 2023 Ultimate Pool Professional Series has a total prize fund of £300,000. The prize money breakdown for each event is as follows: 
- **Winner: £10,000** 
- **Runner-Up: £4,000** 
- **Semi-Finalist: £2,000** 
- **Quarter-Finalist: £1,000** 
- **Last 16: £500** 
- **Last 32: £250**

## Terms and Conditions For Players

As well as the [Ultimate Pool Group's Standard Terms and Conditions](https://www.ultimatepoolgroup.com/tournaments/upg-standard-terms-and-conditions) that all entrants must abide by, there are additional rules:

It is mandatory for all players competing on the 2023 Ultimate Pool Professional Series to stay at least three nights (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) at the Grand Hotel in Blackpool. 

You must book and pay for your accommodation in full at least three weeks prior to a Series weekend. Failure to do so will mean you will not be included in the draw; you could be replaced in the event(s) and you won't be eligible for any refund of entry fees.

**The Ultimate Pool Champions League returns for a third edition in January 2023.**

A professional-only ranking event for the first time, following qualifying round matches that were held in December 2022, there is a 64-player field for the main televised stages.

Taking place on Monday nights from January 9, this unique 21-week event will be live from 18:30 GMT each week on ViaPlay Sports UK, ultimatepool.tv and the Ultimate Pool App.

## Tournament Information

**Status:** Professional-Only Ranking Event

**Format:** **Phase One (64 Players):** 16 round robin groups of four players. Each match is the first to four frames, but with a 20-minute match-clock. If a player does not reach four frames before the time expires, the score stands as the result. Players receive two points for a win, one for a draw and no points for a loss.

At the end of all six fixtures, the top placed player will qualify for phase two. If there is a tie for top place, a 6-reds shootout will determine the winner.

If players are tied on points at the end of any group in the Champions League (phases one and two), a 6-reds shootout will determine final standings. This is also required as it is a professional ranking event and points need to be distributed.

**Phase Two (16 Players):** Four round robin groups of four players. Same format as phase one, except the group winner will qualify for Finals Night.

**Phase Three (4 Players):** Finals Night consisting of the four remaining players. There will be two knockout semi-finals followed by a final. All matches will be the best of two sets. A set is the first to four frames, but with a 20-minute match-clock. If a player does not reach four frames before the time expires, the score stands as the result.

At the end of each set, players receive one point for a win, half a point for a draw and no points for a loss.

If the score after the two sets are completed is tied, a 6-reds shootout will determine the winner.

The Golden Break and Golden Duck are in operation throughout the Champions League.

Returning once again as a professional ranking event, this time it is a professional-only affair as the top tier circuit expands to 96 players for the first time. A total of 64 players will compete in the main draw after the qualifiers in December 2022.

Taking place on Monday nights from the 9th January, this unique 21-week event will be live from 18:30 GMT each week on ViaPlay Sports UK, ultimatepool.tv and the Ultimate Pool App.

Stevie Dempsey won the last edition of the event in the summer of 2022.

Featuring 32 players across 11 weeks of live action on Monday nights, the competition was won by Chris Melling after he defeated fellow all-time great Michael Hill in the final. The tournament returns for a third edition in 2023 with the field extended to 64 players. It also becomes a professional ranking event**

**The Ultimate Pool Masters is back and better than ever in 2022/23 as the field expands to 128 players and the tournament becomes a professional ranking event for the first time.** 

Phil Harrison won the inaugural edition of the Masters in the summer of 2021 after a memorable 6-red shootout victory over Simon Fitzsimmons in the final. 

The bumper competition will now take place on Wednesday nights on ultimatepool.tv and the Ultimate Pool App across 40 weeks before a Finals Day featuring the eight remaining competitors will decide the champion and recipient of a £10,000 top prize. The tournament starts on July 6, 2022.

## Format

Straight knockout – races to eight with a match-clock of 50 minutes throughout all rounds.

Should players be tied after the match-clock expires, a 6-red shootout will determine the winner.

- **Phase One: 128 players (32 sections of 4)**
- **Phase Two: 32 remaining players (8 sections of 4)**
- **Phase Three: 8 remaining players (Finals Day)**

The 4-2-1 format is back, with each night seeing a section of the draw featuring four players in a ‘group’ semi-final and then final.

A total of 32 players will advance to phase two, where the 4-2-1 process will repeat again to yield eight players for the third and final phase. 

The remaining eight contestants will then appear for a Finals Day where the quarter-finals will be played in the afternoon, followed by the semi-finals and final in the evening session.

## Shot-Clock Rules

- **A 30-second shot-clock is in operation for the first 40 minutes of a match.**
- **A 15-second shot-clock is in operation for the last 10 minutes of a match.**
- **Players are permitted to have one extension per frame.**

## Prize Money

The 2022/23 Ultimate Pool Masters has a total prize fund of £22,400. The prize money breakdown is as follows:
- **Winner: £10,000**
- **Runner-Up: £4,000**
- **Semi-Finalist: £1,000**
- **Quarter-Finalist: £500**
