## TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

**Number of Players:** There are 48 players on the 2022 Ultimate Pool Professional Series.

**Format:** The Professional Series consists of eight events throughout the season. All events are straight knockout and ranked. For the 2022 season, those ranked outside of the top 16 will contest a preliminary round – the winners from this round will then meet the top 16 ranked players in round one (last 32).

Races in all Professional Series events are the first to seven frames (unless a timed match).

The Golden Break and Golden Duck are not in operation on the Professional Series.

**Dates/Venues:** There are four Professional Series ‘weekends’ throughout the 2022 season. At each ‘weekend’ there are two events.

- **Events 1 & 2** | Friday 4th - Sunday 6th March, 2022: The Grand Hotel, Blackpool
- **Events 3 & 4** | Friday 15th - Monday 18th April, 2022: The Hilton Metropole, Birmingham
- **Events 5 & 6** | Friday 24th - Sunday 26th June, 2022: The Grand Hotel, Blackpool
- **Events 7 & 8** | Friday 9th - Sunday 11th December, 2022: The Grand Hotel, Blackpool

**Prize Money:** The 2022 Ultimate Pool Professional Series has a total prize fund of £144,000. The prize money breakdown is as follows:

<u>Events 1, 3, 5 and 7</u>
- Winner: £10,000
- Runner-Up: £4,000
- Semi-Finalists: £2,000 each
- Quarter-Finalists: £1,000 each
- Last 16 Losers: £500 each

<u>Events 2, 4, 6 and 8</u>
- Winner: £4,000
- Runner-Up: £2,000
- Semi-Finalists: £1,000 each
- Quarter-Finalists: £500 each

**Coverage:** Extensive live television coverage on FreeSports and ultimatepool.tv.

## TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR PLAYERS

It is mandatory for all players competing on the 2022 Ultimate Pool Professional Series to stay at least two nights (Friday & Saturday) at the hotel venue that the events are being played in.

You must book and pay for your accommodation in full at least three weeks prior to a Series weekend. Failure to do so will mean you will not be included in the draw, you could be replaced in the event(s) and you won't be eligible for any refund of entry fees.

The draw and a comprehensive match schedule will be published on ultimatepool.tv under the 'Live Scoring' tab at least two weeks prior to an event starting.

All matches will have a start time - please register with the 'Top Table' at least 15 minutes beforehand.

Match races are subject to change throughout the events.

**Deposits & Payments:** All Series entry fees for the season must be paid in FULL before the first event. Deposits and all entry fees are non-refundable. The organisers reserve the right to remove and replace any entrant who fails to make the payment deadline. All players must pay all of the entry fees, even if they do not attend all of the events.

By paying your deposit/entry fee it is deemed that you have read and agree to abide by the rules set out by the organisers of the Ultimate Pool Professional Series, and accept they are subject to change and that decisions made by the Tournament Director(s) are final.

**The Ultimate Pool Group's full Standard Conditions of Competition Entry are soon to be released. Before these are published, anything that is not covered will be at the discretion of the Ultimate Pool Group.**

Both the Seniors Mini Series and the Women's Mini Series are played side-by-side at the Daventry Court Mercure Hotel on the long weekends of 30 September-2 October and 25-27 November, with £36,200 set to be paid out in total.

## Seniors Mini Series
Featuring 128 of the world's top 8-ball pool players aged 50 or over, the Ultimate Pool Seniors Mini Series has a prize fund of £24,200.

Played to International 8-Ball Pool Rules, the field is initially split into 16 round robin groups of 8 for each event. All group matches are the best of 5 frames, with the top 4 after all group matches are completed qualifying for the knockout last 64 phase. The bottom 4 in each group move to a plate competition.

**With a fast and furious one-day straight knockout format, the Champion of Champions Shootout is Ultimate Pool’s end-of-season extravaganza bringing together winners of professional and Challenger events from earlier in the season.**

Chris Melling won the first edition of the event in December 2021 when he defeated Chris Day in the final.

**Number of Players**: 16 – a mixture of professional and Challenger players

**Status:** Invitational Event

**Qualification:** Featuring event winners from that season’s Professional Series and Challenger Series.

**Format:** To be confirmed and announced

**Date/Venue:** Saturday 17th December at the Players Pool & Snooker Lounge in Newcastle-under-Lyme. There will be afternoon and evening sessions.

Live coverage from La Boule D’Or Prestige in Agadir, Morocco, where 100 players take to the baize, looking to earn a place in Team Morocco at next years 2023 WEPF World Championships. The format is a Single Elimination event, with 32 Seeded Players. Running alongside this is the 16 Player International Rules Series. The ultimatepool.tv Players Championship is a professional ranking event featuring 48 players in a unique format which is very different to other competitions already on the calendar. 

Action takes place on just one main table, will all participants getting at least five matches in the arena and in front of the live cameras, providing them with additional table time and exposure. 

## Format 

A concept created and put forward by current Ultimate Pool professional Chris Day, the tournament sees the 48 players split into eight groups of six during the opening phase. 

These groups are played across separate weekends. On Saturdays, there will be a round robin format (everyone plays each other once). These matches are races to six frames but with a 30-minute match clock. Players collect two points for a win and one point for a draw.  

At the end of the round robin, the top four placed players will qualify for Sunday’s group knockouts (1 v 4, 2 v 3). Should any players be tied on points, a 6-red shootout will be used to determine positions. Those positioned fifth and sixth exit the competition. 

The Sunday group knockouts will consist of two semi-finals followed by a final. These matches are the best of two sets, with sets being races to eight frames but with a 50-minute match clock in the semi-finals and races to nine frames but with a 60-minute match clock in the final. If players are tied after the two sets, a 6-red shootout will determine the winner. 

Winners of the group finals will advance to an eight-player finals weekend to be held in November. The finals weekend will be straight knockout throughout.

## TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

The unique Ultimate Pool Pairs Cup is back for a second edition after Shaun Chipperfield & Karl Sutton’s memorable 6-red shootout victory in the final of the inaugural staging. 

The world’s top 8-ball pool stars will once again partner up for Pairs Cup glory as 64 two-player teams hope to run the 21-week gauntlet.  

Starting on July 4th, live action takes place each Monday night from 18:30GMT on FreeSports and ultimatepool.tv. 

### Tournament Format 
Phases one (Last 64) and two (Last 16) are in a round robin format with four pairs in each group. The group winners will progress to the next phase. The tournament concluding Finals Night will see the four remaining pairs play in straight knockout semi-finals and then a final.

The semi-finals and final will be the best of two sets.

Whoever wins the set gets a point. If the scores are level at the end of a set, each team receives half a point. 

If the match score is level after both sets are completed, the match will be determined by a 6-reds shootout. 

The Golden Break and Golden Duck are in operation during the Pairs Cup. 

### Match/Set Format
Each match/set is first to four frames with a 20-minute match-clock.

The order of play sequence is:  
•	Scotch Doubles
•	Singles
•	Singles
•	Scotch Doubles
•	Singles
•	Singles
•	Scotch Doubles

### Round-Robin Format

During phases one and two, all pairs play each other in a round robin format. Teams receive two points for a match win, one point for a drawn match and no points for a match loss.

If at the end of all round robin fixtures teams are tied on the same number of points to determine top spot, a 6-red shootout will be played to determine the group winners.

### Shot-Clock

•	A 30-second shot-clock is in operation for the first 15 minutes of a match.

•	A 15-second shot-clock is in operation for the last 5 minutes of a match.

•	Players/scotch doubles pairings are permitted to have one extension per frame.

### Prize Money

The 2022 Ultimate Pool Pairs Cup has a total prize fund of TBC. The prize money breakdown is as follows:  

•	Winners: TBC 

•	Runners-Up: TBC

•	Semi-Finalists: TBC (each team)

•	Joint 5th (second place in a Last 16 group): TBC (each team)

The Ultimate Pool Pairs Cup is an unranked event featuring both professionals and amateurs. There are no restrictions on partnerships.

## TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

The Ultimate Pool Masters is back and better than ever in 2022/23 as the field expands to 128 players and the tournament becomes a professional ranking event for the first time. 


Phil Harrison won the inaugural edition of the Masters in the summer of 2021 after a memorable 6-red shootout victory over Simon Fitzsimmons in the final. 


The bumper competition will now take place on Wednesday nights across 40 weeks before a Finals Day featuring the eight remaining competitors will decide the champion and recipient of a £10,000 top prize. 


The action is live and exclusive on ultimatepool.tv throughout, starting from July 6th. Subscribe here for access. 


### **Format**

Straight knockout – races to 8 with a match-clock of 50 minutes throughout all rounds.


Should players be tied after the match-clock expires, a 6-red shootout will determine the winner.



•	Phase One: 128 players (32 ‘groups’ of 4) 

•	Phase Two: 32 players (8 ‘groups’ of 4)

•	Phase Three: 8 players (Finals Day)


The 4-2-1 format is back, with each night seeing a section of the draw featuring four players in a ‘group’ semi-final and then final.


A total of 32 players will advance to phase two, where the 4-2-1 process will repeat again to yield eight players for the third and final phase. 


The remaining eight contestants will then appear for a Finals Day where the quarter-finals will be played in the afternoon, followed by the semi-finals and final in the evening session. 


### **Shot-Clock**

•	A 30-second shot-clock is in operation for the first 40 minutes of a match.

•	A 15-second shot-clock is in operation for the last 10 minutes of a match.

•	Players are permitted to have one extension per frame.


### **Prize Money**

The 2022/23 Ultimate Pool Masters has a total prize fund of £22,400. The prize money breakdown is as follows:

•	Winner: £10,000

•	Runner-Up: £4,000

•	Semi-Finalists: £1,000 each

•	Quarter-Finalists: £500 each

•	Last 16: £250 each

•	Last 32: £150 each


### **Ranking Points**

Ultimate Pool professionals will be seeded in the draw.
