2022 Ultimate Pool Women’s Series | Format Alteration

Since announcing the new Ultimate Pool Women’s Series for 2022, entries have come flying in.

So much so, the initial 64-player capacity was reached within a few days of information being released. Ultimate Pool has managed to facilitate more entries, and the Series will now see 80 players taking part – all these places have now been taken.

Due to accommodating the additional numbers, a slight change to the tournament format has been made.

The initial phase will see 20 round robin groups of four with matches being the best of nine frames.

The top two from each group will qualify for the Champions League knockouts, whilst the bottom two will go into the Europa League knockouts – meaning all players are guaranteed plenty of action on the tables.

Champions League Knockouts

The winners of each group will advance straight through to the last 32. Four of the runners-up will be drawn at random and will join them.

The remaining 16 group runners-up will contest a preliminary round, with the eight winners making up the last 32.

Europa League Knockouts

For the Europa League, the third-placed players in each group will advance straight through to the last 32. Four of the bottom placed players in the group will be drawn at random and will join them.

The remaining 16 bottom placed players in the group will contest a preliminary round, with the eight winners making up the last 32.

All knockout matches will be the best of nine frames, too.
